V-sync not working?
Near the begining of the game, facing Wolf Loner, I'm getting 212 FPS despite having V-sync on; any thoughts?

I googled "stalker vsync" and found the answer in the first link.

Force vsync on in your graphics card's control panel.

Have you ever used a search engine?

Thanks. Sorta.

Anyway, my concern was that the GPU was running at 70c with max settings to the tune of 176-220 FPS. While within it's specs, it seemed wasteful.

What I ended up doing was setting EVGA Precision to "Target Max Frame Rate" = 60.

Now, it's a rock solid 60 fps and the GPU temp is a cooooool 40c.

I stand somewhat corrected: using the above, I'm now getting screen-tearing --so it's obviously not the BEST solution.

Gotta find the balance...

Have you tried enabling triple buffering?

I fail to see how this is a problem.

Vsync is broken in the engine itself and can't really be fixed. I tried forcing it in the NVIDIA settings since my card tends to coil whine at high framerates, but it caused funky side-effects such as slowing down the game (not in a laggy way, but as in actual, subtle slow-motion) and messing up the physics (some games can react like that if you mess with the framerate).
