False I just installed the mod and I am playing a game I had going for a while. I'm not saying that some might not have that problem just that it's not entirley the case.

That depends if you opened the user.ltx file and changed
$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\
to
$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

For the mod to actually work. Otherwise new game is needed.

It will probably let you load an old save, but none of the Complete Mod functionality will load up.
It will basically be your vanilla game save.

So I have to start a new game to get the mod working. I don't see the point of installing the mod then loading an old save game only to have the mod's content not work/

If anyone actually bothers to read up on the mods they're downloading, you would know this before installing since Artispavel makes it quite clear.

I did read it, just saying that it sucks.

I just went over the usrers manual for the mod and see nothing that says I must change that line DayofTheSheep. In fact my user.ltx does not even have that line. I did see the line that says a new game is required to have the mod work though. I have the Stalker complete menu when playing and all the options like the teleport feature and the sleeping bag, so not sure what the deal is.

Strange.... I'm sure there was this instruction in an earlier build. I've always used to mod all 3 games.

Pavel says to do this if experiencing any issues on the moddb forum for CS Complete. That must be where I saw it long ago.

I did find that file in another spot and that line was already changed. I did install the newest (recommended) file. It was an .exe and seemed to do this all upon install.
