Can't get through red forest
I have the psi-helm and the SSP-99m suit but my radiation just shoots up to max and i start losing health like crazy. i'm playing vanilla, anyone know whats going on?

Dont go through the forest, follow the road around it. Beware though there is radioactive spots, and enemies waiting for you...

What's the problem? Just like every area of the game that location also has radiation pockets, just more abundant. Just traverse around them.

the psi helmet is kinda useless i mean like it has no use,the suit does a lot with low-mid radiation tho you have to pay attenction to bigger places with more radiation,also take anti rad artifacts they will help ou a lot and you not gonna need anti rad almost

Stay away form the broken trucks/tanks etc, they are radiation hotspots as well. Tread carefully.

Vehicles and machinery giving off radiation was a thing even since the first area, you learned that just now?

to be fair, its particularly bad and frequent in the 'red forest', caught me out more than once
