Vsync Stuck On?
I seem to recall having a similar issue when i first played this game on steam but can't recall how to fix it! :(

Basically in game 60hz and vsync options are turned off and i've turned off catalyst ai and vsync from control center... What else can it be??

btw it's not performance issues as it's sticks to 60fps :/

thats what i think, something is limiting it to 60.
However I am practically on a fresh install so there really is nothing to go wrong. All i have installed is the latest amd drivers and steam. I've checked the control panel and nothing should be limiting it. I've just ran postal 2 and that runs at 200fps so really not sure.

Don't understand how this problem isn't reported previously :S.

mhmm, i've reinstalled even and reset all the document files with no success. Going to try claim the gog free version and see if it's steam :/.

just to confirm, are you playing it now above 60fps. I did read somewhere someone claimed vsync was forced in but this was never verified.

I'm going to give up. I'm literally running a fresh install with a fresh game install. More annoyingly my steam key is not supported by gog. I'm going to build a new system in a few days so i'll try again but i'm pretty sure it's somehow steam.

Thanks for your help by the way, much appreciated.

Ok now i'm suspicious.

So i went to install clear sky and the same 60fps cap was still there! :S
So i uninstall my graphics control programme leaving only the driver in place and the issue is there.

The really wierd part is that i downloaded the clear sky benchmark tool (which is standalone) and that runs as expected ABOVE 60fps....

Something is wrong somewhere.... and i'm not the only one:

I used nVidia Inspector to force disable vsync, pretty much eliminated input lag due to vsync for me.

So you can achieve higher than 60fps? thought it was hard coded into game files so i didn't think it could be forced?

Maybe msi afterburner will work for amd alternative...

Yes, but I recommend capping the fps to 120 or 144 because the frames can go up to thousands in the main menu. Some people got their graphics card fried in Starcraft 2 because of this.

I had the same problem (nvidia gpu). Got it fixed by

- Nvidia Control Panel --> Program specific 3D settings --> force vsync off for Shadow of Cernobyl (xr_3da.exe)
- In MSI Afterburner / Riva Tuner: manually add xr_3da.exe to Application profile properties and limit FPS to 120 there

I am getting a constant 120 FPS now, including the menu. Hope this will help others with the same problem.
