Assist at Freedom's Barrier outpost task
During this task, I was fighting off the enemy, and during that the commander had died. The task didn't fail or anything, it just kept on going. After the fight I was suppose to talk to the commander, but yet he's still dead. I'm sorta confused about this, and wondering what I should do.

Replay from last save, when Cap is alive. I can recommend you to take cover at the wooden tower. You'll get perfect view to kill hostiles before they attack Freedom's outpost.

One issue, I happened to quicksave after the commander's death. I do have an auto save, though that's also after his death. So, I do have one save but that's before I even got to Yantar. This game's difficulty really disencourages me going back to Yantar, so would this have a bad affect on me just for having this task uncompleted while trying to finish this game?

It's an unnecessary task you can move ahead without replaying.

The gate commander isn't really of importance but its' a good idea to keep them all alive for a future mission in Dark Valley. I recommend having a high reputation with Duty in general. If you want more info, let me know. I don't want to spoil the game right on here.
