At extreme close range, a single shot to the head will take out anything/one.
At anything above 20 meters, handguns are less than lethal, shotguns useless, however assault rifles (well aimed) will take down targets at 200-400 meters reliably.
But yes, you shoudl mod. At the very least, the 2009 Complete mod that everyone talks about...
Always try to find cover, dont be shy to move and run away when things go south.
Using a scoped rifle makes life a lot easier (still have to crouch when shooting for best results).
Lacing with bullets while moving and without proper aiming is a waste of ammo and a recipe for frustration because game will do its best to punish this kind of behavior.
If you play on master at least. Greatly improves A.I. too.
Died 2 times in the first mission.
So, time to learn the basics of combat, recognize frinds from enemies, or just make a mistake, i must replay from the very start.
How come they did not input intermediary WP ?
I was blocked very early in Metro 2033, gone quite far in Last Light.
I hope i will play this one more than 30 minutes...
(i don't play easiest mode and don't want to)
When i first played this game i died at least ten times in the first mission, on stalker(normal) difficulty.
About the difficulty levels, in this game the difficulty levels are not what they seem. Master difficulty doesnt really change the difficulty level, it changes the game mechanics.
Some people (especially those who want to play Stalker as the average shooter game) will like the master difficulty because it virtually removes the chance to "miss" and greatly enhances the damage dealt by the player, the enemies will also kill you much faster so the game will not be the same at all.
I would recommend trying the normal (stalker) difficulty first, then try master difficulty, see what suits your style more.
Many players insist that Master is actually easier than Stalker difficulty, and in a certain way it is, you dont need to worry about some of the finer aspects of the game mechanics because they are simply removed on master difficulty.
