but yea good point I dunno why people use controllers on FPS games when keyboard / mouse is much more accurate
Because inherently they aren't. It all boils down to what you are more comfortable with.
Because most people play games at home (and not in the office) and mouse doesn't work on a couch. Everyone knows that mouse is acurate (though keyboard sucks balls because it's designed for text input, gaming with keyboard is like tractor racing, thank god FPS games doesn't require preciese movement). The point is to use living room environment and input method designed for gaming.
Also it's 3yo necro. Now even Steam itself has a built-in gamepad mapper which works flawlessly with any gamepad.
