Report a translation problem
Turns out, it's the missing Direct X, that's required for the game to run. It sucks that we don't get any messages about these errors.

"DX installer has determined that an equivalent or newer version has been installed." or something like that.
Look for XR_3DA.exe in ../bin folder.
Last EDIT: Okay I´ve fixed it. It appears that you have to uncheck the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" option as a whole and the game will launch normally in Windows 10.
Go to Steam/SteamAppc/common/Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl/bin and right click on XR_3DA, select properties and go to compatibility. Then uncheck "Run this program in compatibility mode for".
Also, I´ve read to uncheck the option in Steam for ingame-overlay. However, for me turning off the compatibility mode has fixed it. :D

so i can get an old save game to load and get pretty far if i go back wards but as soon as i progress i crashes
Thank you so much! I decided to try this game after the trailer got STALKER 2 got announced to be out tomorrow and was having the same problem. This fix worked for me!
