If the way things work on stalker difficulty frustrate you and you want an experience that resembles more your average shooter, then play on master, its the mode for players that just want to "kill sh!t" and cant be bothered with other things.

this guide is good (and spoiler-free) for the first-time player.
You never explained how Stalker mode is "realistic" despite bullets being much weaker than they would be otherwise, and despite the fact that bullets have a percentage chance of simply disappearing from the barrel as soon as its fired on any difficulty below "Master". Instead you just go on about how Master isn't the "authentic STALKER experience" even though Master was the original default mode of the game, with the lower difficulties being added only at the very end of development when the publisher expressed concern that the game was too difficult.
ok here is my explanation from the other thread:
It makes it easier because it makes it mindless, so you dont have to understand the game mechanics. Master turns Stalker into just another shooter.
Some hits being off target even when aimed correctly....that is realistic and the way it should be, also important to know that the hit probability is dependant on the distance, player stance and movement and is strongly affected by the accuracy upgrades of your wep, again these things lose a lot of their importance on Master.
Most of the fine elements that make Stalker combat so good are simply nullified on Master.
Some players like it more because they cant be bothered with realistic things such as missed shots when firing on the move or enemy armor resisting bullets or having a chance to miss, having to use the right type of ammo, using auto fire when its necessary and avoiding it in other situations where its detrimental......to each their own.
Plus, lower difficulties are far from more "realistic", because bullets don't do near as much damage as they should. Even if you're using the right ammo type, it might take multiple headshots to take an enemy down. Plus, in difficulties below Master, a percentage of bullets you shoot will just disappear from the game entirely no matter how on-target your shot was. That is, the bullet doesn't go off-target because of scatter -- I am saying the bullet will sometimes just blink out of existance entirely because of a value in the game called hit_probability_gd. On novice, up to 60% of bullets fired will never make it to the target, because they just disappeared thanks to the RNG.
There's nothing realistic about lower difficulties, and there's nothing more "authentically" STALKER about it. Master was the original difficulty setting and the others were added in at the last second to appease the publisher. This isn't about picking the hardest difficulty to be "hardcore" or anything, mind you. It's simply that the lower difficulty settings are extremely wonky and counter-intuitive.
All i can say is play it and see for yourself if this is true or not.
You can always swap between them through the playthrough, though. There's an option in the options menu.
So if Master is too difficult, try an easier difficulty.
Not even muh casual that's just the way it must be played
