The best is the OWR for SoC, imo. I just finished the game with it. It has improved textures, animations and sounds. Only the names are unchanged. Here is the link: http://www.moddb.com/mods/original-weapons-renewal-3-for-soc.

LURK mod has great models and with some tweaking you can remove the annoying bits like no artifact usage and limited carry weight ( if it bothers you ) and as to the " does not crash " comment, I've never had a mod besides Misery on Call of Pripyat crash....JUST sayin'

awesome but is this mod gonn kill my laptop?

i usually play stalker soc in medium quality, (i can play it in evryting in high def.) but the light effects is the effects that consume most of my memory, so i can play with effects of day/night etc,
