cant reset game to vanilla

i downloaded mods and the game runs ♥♥♥♥ like at 25 fps, i tried verifying game files but it didnt change a thing, i have no idea how to reset game files, help would be appreciated

i did try verifying it, it didnt work, i installed an overhaul mod so the mods arent only in the mods folder, its replaced app data and that but idk how to get the original files back

I deleted my last comment because I don't think I should probably answer this question. I did mod the game but there's people who know far more about it than I do

Oh I see. I hope you can get an answer, I'm not sure what the problem is. I thought all the files go into the mod folder but I guess that's not true.

I was using the Stalker complete overhaul. But I haven't tried uninstalling, or getting rid of it.

Maybe I'm mixing up the Stalker 2 to installation with Shadow of Chernobyl, because I modded them both on the same day

When you say that you verified files, you mean that you deleted every single file and then verified files?

issue is now, even when i just try to play it now it doesnt even launch, wild how there isnt just a "reset game to default" button or sum

no i right clicked it and went to properties and verified the files there

It doesn't exist because that's not how modding works, not at least in this game

Then that's what you are doing wrong. Go to the local files, delete everything (or delete the folders related to the mods) and then verify files

Glad it worked. Not sure why verifying files didn't delete the modded ones and take the game to default but I'm glad the other way worked.

Maybe verifying ignores mod folder

For most Stalker mods, you create a game data folder and change a setting to"true" so the mod works.

But the game data folder does not exist by default so Steam likely does not touch it.
