Try to play original game initially, if you want to play STALKER
If you really have problems with starting the game - try beta, available via Steam
If you still encounter critical bugs - use ZRP with basic settins
BTW: CS is for Clear Sky. Complete is just "Complete" (nobody calls id SC imo)
I lot of time has passed since then, so I just assume that the vanilla games are even more problematic on Windows 11.
Factions war usually bug out and reinforcements can get stuck.
So they are much less fun.
So SRP is very highly recommended.
Makes faction wars much better.....
Stalker SOC is more stable but it is still kinda buggy.
You can get an infinite radiation bug and that likely will force a load back.
ZRP is IMO better than vanilla.
SRP and ZRP also have optional changes which slightly affect gameplay.
But you can use none of those options and play vanilla with less bugs.
Eg. SRP has an optional mode for iron sights for pistols but CS some reasons do not have it.
Should be noted that the complete edition already included SRP(but afaik not the most recent version)and has better GFX but it makes the game easier.
So Imo it has too many non-optional gameplay changes.
Stalker COP is very stable and likely doable on vanilla.
Should be noted that my first playthrough was on vanilla and the second with ZRP, and SRP.
For Later playthrough there are also more hardcore mods like Misery, and Anomaly.
