How does the difficulty works ?
The release of Stalker 2 pushed me to replay the original. Reviews say the difficulty works differently to other games, most notably the enemy damage increases but so does yours.

Could someone provide details or a link with details ?

That's a common myth. In Shadow of Chernobyl, your damage actually decreases as you increase the difficulty. Here's a chart to illustrate how the difficulty settings work in each game: https://imgur.com/what-do-difficulties-actually-change-s-t-l-k-e-r-games-FIEVjZe

It's not. I would recommend Stalker, at most veteran if you think it's too easy, although it probably won't be in your first playthrough

The higher difficulty is, the less loot you'll find on bodies, npc have higher chances to hit when they shoot at you, and you get more damage. SoC is pretty easy in comparsion with CS and CoP, you'll understand it when you'll start to play CS.
