Steam activation with CD Key

Hey guys,
any idea if I can buy the original DVD game and activate it here via Steam? I was already disappointed with Baldurs Gate II EE because there is no key inside.

Would be nice if you could help.

Used to work like that few years back as far as I know. They had converter from CD-key to Steam. Not anymore, at least on official sites it's no longer available, don't think there is other option

no, valve and steam are not involved with the production/distribution of physical game copies. i dont think this has ever worked for any games besides games valve has developed/published themselves.

Apparently some CD keys redeem on GOG.com so you could try that!
