How do I disable object highlighting and button prompts?
I have a difficult time coping with object highlighting and button prompts in games; I find them awkward, redundant, and insulting to the intelligence, and immersion breaking in addition to all of that.

Since my efforts on Google have amounted to naught, I figured Steam would be the next best alternative. Thank you in advance for the technical advice.

Did you try disabling help/tips in the game ?

There's not really much of an option for that in the game itself. It's unfortunate, because in my experience with this issue in other games I simply have to change a varible in a single line of code. It really makes me wonder why developers don't just add the option to disable these things from the main menu.

Maybe your game utilizes a different patch. What iteration of the game do you own?

You could install the Zone Reclamation Project Mod. It is more or less just a collection of bugfixes and comes with an easy configurator.

You can, of course, do it without a mod by unpacking the first gamedata file. There should be an entry for highlighting in the actor.ltx file, but as for the F button prompt I am not so sure.

I'll try and research that when I have time; thank you.
