Need Help Please! Black Screen / Monitor Disconnect BUG

Basically after anywhere from 5min-40min of playing my screen will go black and the "no connection" msg will pop up (as if saying my monitor is now disconnected from my video card) essentially this leads me to have to force shut down my computer and reboot it then. And since other people have had this issue in the past and there's no true solution I'm gonna make discussion about it since I have always really really wanted to play this game :(

So I looked this issue up and apparently I'm not the only one with this problem as I've found quite a few forums that have talked about this but none seem to have a full working solution. They all pretty much center around the user.ltx file and either deleteing it, changing values in it, copying and pasting it to different locations, etc...
The only ones that seem to have somewhat of a working solution are for those with the black screen on STARTUP/LAUNCH which is a bit different than this as those people could not even get to the main menu to mess with video settings which is where changing values in the user.ltx file helped them. Some of those people have also then ran into the problem I have of getting that computer shut down black screen.
I've tried messing around with the user.ltx file and copy and pasted it hear and there and edited it and no solution at all :(. The only thing that helped a little was putting a copy of the user.ltx file in the stalker-shoc folder (which no one specified it's location but was easy enough to find after awhile as I thought they meant the directory -.- ) and since then I can get about another 15-20min of game time

It is also worth noting that some people have mentioned that when they get this bug/crash they can still hear game sounds, but that may also be for the people that had the startup black screen (they did not specify) as with me no, everything shuts down, if I'm on discord everyones voices cut and I drop from call, there is no game music there is no alt tabbing or ctrl alt del. It's as if my pc is in a non wake-able sleep mode.

A few side notes: -I have heard that this game makes many peoples cards overheat and shut down... but I don't really think that's the case with this as when people then monitored their cards temps they stayed at pretty normal levels.

-People with cards that range from a gtx 970 all the way down to my card and worse have had this issue.

Right now I'm guessing that it's an issue with resolution since I haven't done to much with that and maybe I have to knock down my native reolution as well? I don't know because when in the user.ltx I said fullscreen no, it still launches the game in fullscreen. I would also really hope I don't have to uninstall my drivers and install older ones if it's a direct x issue.

PC specs:
8gb ram
Video card: gt 220
processor: i3 550

Any and all help would be VERY much appreciated (yes drivers are updated) I'm hoping this thread can help everyone that has had this issue or is going to have it and we can all enjoy this amazing game finally :).

Don't try to max out the lighting in the game. I do belive that in the readme files, I think it says play wth Static Lighting for best results. Just because someone has a macho video card, doesn't always mean that's what's best for the game. Every game has it's parameters so, you have to play by it.

PERFORMANCE TIPS

To improve performance, from the main menu, select Options, and then select the Video tab. Any of the following should result in improved performance.

—Change Render to Static Lighting
—Lower the Quality Settings to Medium, Low or Minimum
—Lower the game resolution to 1024x768 or lower
—Enable Full Screen
—Under the Advanced button, lower the settings for Vision Distance; Anisotropic Filtering; Antialiasing; and Shadows Quality

I do have lighting on static and nearly everything is at medium and lowest, I get very good fps on the game regardless but have been having it on lowest because of problem. It doesn't help at all. It's very unlikely that it's a performance issue as I even sat facing a corner just to see if It would still happen and did. While going out guns blazing walking through anomalies didnt have any drop or make the screen go black. Staring at the wall actually made me crash at around 10min lol

I don't have any issues with the game other than, files getting corrupted after using mods. I have to seach all folders for left-over files once i uninstall before, reinstalling again. Once they're clean, the game goes back to playing like it should.

Idk if you have mods installed or, not? I'm not a geek for games, just learn from experience.

It's more than likely, your video card. It's not much different than a nVidia 8500.

even so people with worse cards can play it and my card still meets its requirements especially with such low settings :( I think im just going to give up trying to get the game to work then. It's not worth the hassal. Thanks for the help tho :)

edit: i just checked and many people can play this clear sky and call of priyat with this card :( and specifically under this card recommended games to play the stalker games is one of them.

Well, Idk what to tell ya. It seems to me some of these dedicated Stalker players wopuld know more about it than I do. I wouldn't give up, it's a good game.

I have same issue. This is probably releated to new nvidia drivers and UE becouse same issue happen to me after update of drivers and playing HumanitZ, and every other games works OK. So, don't worry about your card it's probably software problem.
