How to instal MOD

I've download a couple off mod. I check the file directory theres a MOD folder but when i paste the file is do not work. Still the same. Help me pleasee.

If you have not used mods before, you will need to open your fsgame.ltx file found in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl" directory.
Open this file with a text editor (notepad will do) and find the following line:

$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata

Change the false to true, i.e.:

$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata

Once done, put the gamedata folder in your STALKER directory.

Ok i'm NOT using my own Pc at the moment. Im using a Internet Cafe pc but most of the game that i bought i install it on my External HDD.
My directory is in Steam folder is
- D:\Steam\steamapps\common\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl
inside the folder include
-_appdata_
-bin
-mods
-all the file like gamedata.db0/The game.exe.

i guess you have to unpack those files; it should be folders...

Okay (on linux/steamosversion just different paths); you need to open 'fsgame.ltx' in your games basefolder... with text editor...

the first line...
$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

make it this (false->true) should look like this:
$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\


after it; start the game... it will do unpacking itself; exit to system, then pull those files and folders onto.
you will do it...

Wich mods do you use? Would be good to know.
Mostly, you just drag & drop the mods in your game folder OR install it with a .exe

For example:
Installed the SoC Complete Mod. Thats just an .exe file tu run.
BUT you need to know: Run it as admin, restart your pc if your steam was or is running.
AND if you playing in any othe rlanguage than english, you need to install the language fix..

Like mfg42 said, including me, you have to change those lines before adding any mod.

Thank you and i follow like you said
- open the fsgame.ltx file using note pad. -DONE-
- then start the game
- exit the game (the game will make a file call gamedata)
- copy the mod (both Mod below is the mod that i downloaded)
- start the game
- and it crash my pc

Question if i copy both mod will it crach ?

Never used either one and I wouldn't use NEXUS mods if I did. Uh, I didn't tell you all that, the other player did. I just told you what to edit. Anyway, they may not be compatible and the reason it crashed. The only file you actually need is, the >gamedata< file from the mod.

Unzip the file and copy the "gamedata" folder in "C:\Programmi\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl" directory. Or, wherever you have the game installed. If you dislike it just eliminate this gamedata folder and game return to original.

I have a ot of games, around 650GB, installed on an External HDD and don't have any issues running them.

It may be that, the PC you're trying to use, isn't good enough to run the game. Never used a Internet Cafe PC before.

Is this a Public PC?

What I would do is, uninstall the game,completely. Search all folders having to do with Stalker and delete them,as well. Reinstall the game. Unzip those mods and copy & paste one gamedata folder at a time, after editing the text we showed you above then, start the game and see if it runs. If it does, drop the other mods' gamedata folder in and say yes to all and start the game again. If it runs, you're good to go, if not, they aren't compatible with each other.

That's all I know to tell ya.

You can also just remove the gamedata folder and restart the game. I've never played games from an Internet Cafe before so, that's all new to me.

Yes is a public pc but i have my password.
Is and AMD PC 6350 six core 3.90
a 16 gb RAM and a Nivideo G force 750GTX(yes kinda low)

I'm kinda save my mony to buy a new pc.

Is it posible that when you upload a save game with no mod wil it crash? i kinda crash my game.

Idk what to tell ya. I've used a few mods but would rather play the game lke it was intended to be played, without them. I have no issues wth it. I only play on my own PC,as well.

As for uploading saved games without the mod, probably so, to a public PC. Modded saves won't work without the mod being installed. lol

Oh ok thank man. I've copy the save game in to the Public pc. Eatch pc have there on password.
