Trainers for STALKER.

I occasionally download trainers for popular games and find that many of the game-related downloads contain malware after they have been unzipped/unpacked.

Check them carefullf after unzipping them. I run MalwareBytes with real-time protection and after unzipping one for STALKER, I got a warning when I selected the folder the trainer was unzipped to. It contained RiskWare.GameHack and quaranteened the malware.

I deleted both the downloaded trainer and the unzipped game install folder. Be aware that most Anti-Virus Applications DO NOT spot some malware. MalwareBytes and Panda Antivirus are probable the best available, particularly when their real-time protection is enabled.

Both have a free program and Panda offers an On-Line Scan.

Also, it really depends on website which are you downloading from.

Easy solution - don't download cheat programs like trainers etc. or deactivate any kind of antivir program

I received a warning from Malwarebytes Antivirus Real-Time Protection that the file that I had extracted to a folder within contained the Riscware and blocked it from being activated.

The file(s) that were flagged by MalwareBytes was NOT from your site. I have never had any files from Steam flagged for Malware.

What site? Besides, Trainers are hacks so, if you use them, you are subject to receiving as such. I don't use them, never will.

As for not having any from Steam, I have, on several occassions. I got the SS's to prove it.

What would you need a trainer for? This game dosen't need a trainer, all you need to do is know how to do mod basics for this game... Matter in fact, thats all you need to know for doing this in the whole stalker series games...

That was the problem . . . I couldn't perform basic tasks such as giving a medpack to someone. I searched for some more detailed instructions and without much success, finally decided to try using a trainer to bypass some of those problems that I could not find a solution to.

I eventually gave up and removed the "game" from my system, and will not continue to flog a dead horse, which, in my opinion is a piece of . . . .

You can only give a med kit to someone if they are injured enough to have one, and they can only be nutral or a friend. Since this is SOC and not CS, you can do this even in the default game, I never had a problem with this..

OBTW, you have to have the med kit also in your inventory..

LMAO... Be a true stalker, grow a set, and deal with it.... I been in the Zone since the first release in 2007. I am a Master Stalker. who needs a silly pointless trainer... Maybe you should consider a differnt game.... like COD or something relavent... maybe even DOOM 3.... Something were you have cheats and can run through levels to get your "defeat the big boss" thing going on..

Because your not going to get that in this game...

Its not about "defeating the big boss", I wanted to play the story before I fully start Lost Alpha, so I can see the difference.

Its not about "defeating the big boss", I wanted to play the story before I fully start Lost Alpha, so I can see the difference.

Look, Lost Alpha is the Promotion game to show THQ what was expected to find in this type of game, and THQ went with it, and SOC was the result. That is it. Nothing more nothing less. Nothing magical about it...

Lost Alpha Game mod is created by some old time modders with help of GSC to bring this promotional game as a working functioning game for fans to enjoy. So you can have a chance to see the many, many things and ideals that got cut out. Because there was a lot more going on. Have no idea why THQ did that, but it is what it is.

So just go play the game. There is no Rush, it is not going anywere. Unless you have a gun to your head, there is no point going on about it..

COC is just a game mod to bring the entire stalker series world togeather with maps from the promotion game version and addition map level for the vehicle scrap yard. Just you need a legal copy of COP for it to work because the modder do not support illeagl copies...

Are we clear?

I thought LA added additional maps and quests (so the maps are not just empty spaces, but you actually have to do something there). Now it has been some time (6 or 7 years) since I last played SoC and the other stalkers (played all three in a row) and I can hardly remember anything and often dont know what location or quest was in which game. I only remember that the story of SoC was the best (by far) and so I wanted to see what it was before I play LA (which has additional quests that may change parts of the story?).
