Similar problem. Crashing all the time. Is there some unofficial mods which make this game more stable?

Have you verified the game files?

-There is a call for a object in ref of the xml document in the game...
Expression : xml_doc.NavigateToNode(path,index)

-Apperently it is a UI device in relation to the call to a initstatic device or object.
Function : CUIXmlInit::InitStatic

-This is the module controler that was active for this proscess
File : E:\stalker\sources\trunk\xr_3da\xrGame\ui\UIXmlInit.cpp

-The object in ref to the "Expression" call, is missing..
Description : XML node not found

-Probably a line in the xml used for the UI, or could be the object on the texture file for the UI is not there. In short, right texture file, but the texture object on said file is not there to use.
Arguments : closecaption_9

If you were using a mod at the time of the crash and had removed it, and still have a problem with it, you will need to...

>Do a validation check, if the problem continues..

>Uninstall the game, after you uninstall the game, go to the game location and see if the the main game directory fold still exsist, if so you must delete that yourself after the uninstall.

It is located in...

-->Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl

The steam uninstall will only uninstall regestered install files. Any file that was changed it will leave behind.

So after the uninstall by steam, then check, if present, then delete. Reinstall the game, and see if it will work, it should..

Uninstall the game and/or, any mods you have along with it. Check the My Docs folder and delete any folders in there for SHOC. Install CCleaner and run it then, a registery scan to remove unwanted registery keys. Go into Steam Settings and then, Clear Download Cache, go into the Steam folder and delete the >appcache< folder, scroll down and delete anything you see with the word, '.old' attached to it, shut down and reboot your system. Check all again to make sure nothing for SHOC is still in your system, reinstall the game.
