Too high sensitivity ?
Hello guys, I'm struggling to play this game cause I'm used to very low sensitivities but this game does not allow going nearly as low as I'd like. I ended up lowering windows sensitivity and my mouse DPI on top of that, but it's a pain in the ass to change the windows sens every time I launch or quit the game. Anyone know of some fix ?

I managed to use Cheat Engine to create a table to lower the value. Followed a Borderlands tutorial, which followed a Battleborn tutorial for the same issue.

Here's the thread I followed from reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Battleborn/comments/3qtu89/setting_mouse_sensitivity_to_any_number_you_want/

Someone in the thread mentioned that for BL2 you needed to change the value type to 2 byte, but with Stalker the Float value type worked for me to locate the right address.

Basic instructions:
1) Open the game, tab out, open Cheat Engine, select the games .exe within Cheat Engine.
Select Float value type in the drop down menu.

2) You'll need to search for 3 sensitivities in the value box in Cheat Engine. You do this by changing the in-game sensitivity to a value first, saving the options, then tab out and scan for the value in Cheat Engine. (0.05 is minimum sens, 0.6 is maximum sens, and a third value you'll have to set via console because the in-game slider has no numbers. For example, use "mouse_sens 0.25".) Also, use First scan for the first scan, and Next scan for the next 2 scans. By searching for 3 sensitivities, you are narrowing down the one specific address which corresponds to in-game sensitivity.

3) Now you'll be left with one address in the Cheat Engine window. Double click it from the left side window and it will appear in the bottom window. Double click the value box from this bottom window (while the game is still open) and you can change it to different values. With 1600 DPI, I use 0.0125 and this is roughly 36cm/360. (*Make sure the X is marked under the Active column so your changes take effect in-game.)

4) Save the table within Cheat Engine for future use. You'll have to open Cheat Engine, select the game, then open the table you created each time. Alternatively, selecting "File > Generate generic trainer lua script" will allow you to create your own .exe. I opted to create the .exe with a hotkey enabler. So I just have to run the .exe and hit Backspace once I'm in-game.

Also, sorry for psuedo-necro, but this was the latest online topic relating to this issue. I couldn't find any fixes and managed to get this sorted anyhow. Figured I'd make a post in case someone else was hoping for a fix.

I already set my DPI to 400.

You could try changing the value for "mouse_sens" in the user.ltx file in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\stalker-shoc" (Windows 7) with notepad.

I believe it's equivalent to changing it in console, which returns an error.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I left my mouse on high, I understand the when you turn quickly it makes the head cam veiw look like your getting slapped around, for some reason these settings are not binding correctly to the game. When I installed the DVD version after I had installed the steam version of this game, for some reason, everying for the cam went normal, from head bob to even turning.. I don't know why it, but it did.. I do not even get the never ending backwards spinning when I pass out either..

Maybe it is reading the stalker-shoc folder that is placed in public documents by the DVD that the steam version dosen't create...

just tossing bolts thats all...

That's a different issue from mine, I'd just like to lower my in-game sensitivity so I don't spin 10 times by moving the mouse for a couple of inches.

Wow, your right, I have it up all the way and do not have that kind of problem at all...
Hope you get it solved..

Also, if anyone was interested in trying, the address I got for the sensitivity was 00508FDC. You could try to manually enter that address in CE, see if it bypasses the need to search. Default sens is 0.12, so if you change nothing in-game and search the address on CE, it should kick back that value. (it was actually 0.119977 when I first found it for some reason).

I'm not an expert with this, but the initial troubleshooting seemed basic enough. I just don't know if that address changes for different people or versions, and I also use the FoV Switcher 1.7, so I'm not sure if that changes anything.

Anyhow, glgl.
