Audio Issues on Windows 10 - No audio OR constant crackling & popping
Hi all,

Every time I run ShoC, the game runs fine but after a few minutes, all the audio from the game disappears and there's no sound.

The only thing I've found that helps at all is running the game with the launch code "-dsound". Now, however, the sound stays ON but the audio is constantly cracking and popping. I'm just running the ZRP patch on a vanilla game. I used to play this game on my old Windows 7 PC and never had such issues.

Has anyone found any fixes for this issue yet? Thanks in advance!

This sort of sounds like an issue I ran into with TESIV Oblivion. Try changing the sample rate on your particular sound source. Headset, speakers, whatever you're using, you should be able to change them to something compatible ( hopefully ) as most firmware supports nearly all sample rates these days.

Thanks so much for the response - what's the best way of going about that? I've got headphones, monitor speakers, and external speakers to choose from.

I dont think any game ever made likes running on windows 10. It was just a bad bad move to screw over gamers. That being said i will never upgrade from windows 7 after hearing endless horror stories. Even negative reviews for brand new full price games that people always make such as " Wont run on Windows 10". Too bad people dont realise its directly their problem for using windows 10 and games will never be properly compatable with it.

Sorry to bump this, did you end up finding a solution or a sample rate that fixed the issue?

I upped or lowered the sample rate/changed it until it worked. Hope that helps
