Strange looking icons and PDA diary notes reseting

So I installed starter pack but it seems some of the weapons dont have weapon icon in inventory but somekind of trash(?) icon on them, and also my PDA diary notes keep turning back to green after reading them and closing PDA. Also I where can I buy medkids in the start of the game, nobody seems to sell them, I need two to save Fox and his friend.

The PDA thing is normal. As for the medkits, you’ll usually find them in stashes.
