What is the best mod for this game?
In you guys opinion what is the best mod and that you find most fun to play?

I just compile minimods. Using minimods is the best option as it allows you to get more features without getting features that you don't want. Most large mods come with extra content, and with that extra content comes extra content I don't like. Mind you, if you don't have the game yet then you shouldn't even be thinking about mods.

Yeah, i don't own the game yet but i will buy it in the future since i liked the game from what i've seen and heard other people say, but i would rather have everything planned before buying the game, better than spending a entire day just looking for what mods to play and use.

About the mods, i don't care about the vanilla game, or what other people say ''vanilla experience'', i really don't care about that, if i install a new game and that said game has a Huge mod that makes the game 100x better, then i'm not losing my time with vanilla, i'm going directly to playing with the mod, just the way i like to do things, i would rather just experience everything at the same time with mods, than play the entire vanilla game and then restart again with a mod, not my kind of thing.

Some people said that Lost alpha is good, but i have no idea about the mod features since they don't have any info about that, what is your opinion about that, have you ever tested it?

Also, what minimods do you use.

Nothing is better than the original game. That's STALKER. Play on Master and have fun.

As for LA? Go to ModDb and read about it there, that's what you do.

i've read it, there's no information about the actual features of the mod, there's only a big description about what the project is about.

OL2.2 for 5
Supose to be able to work in the newer 6. How ever last year the steam version was updated, and can load gamedata type mods better, but I do not know if it will work with the spawn file that came with OL2.2. My own personal mod I did for 5 has some problems in 6. How ever there is a OL 3.1 (Oblivion_Lost_v3_1). And this one adds levels like the Marsh from CS and some other stuff, I haven't had the chance to try it... But I will toss the ideal at you..

I just reinstalled SHOC and it's playing for me, first time in almost two years, it's working again. Gonna do a quick play-through of it and see if I get a new ending this time. Got 7 play-throughs with 5 different endings and two of the same. There's 7 total.

It hasn't crashed on me yet and I'm playing it on 1920x1080. Looks better, that's for sure.

I think my files were corrupted from trying mods, once before. Done a clean install a few months back and added AA v2.0 to it, played fine for like 20 minutes then crashed and crashed forever after. Uninstalled it.

Played some last night and this morning and so far, so good. Hope it stays that way. Got my a s s handed to me a few times. :D:

Went to check out some crates in that building near to the train bridge. Stabbed a few creats with me knife, hit one container thinking it was one of those metal boxes and then, BOOM! Nope, wasn't one of those, it was a fuel can. :D:


Steam overlay isn't working now, don't know why? Always did before.

At least from other game modding I've done, generally speaking you DON'T want steam overlay enabled. It only causes problems...

what do you guys think about the Lost alpha mod? and what about the Stalker complete mod.

Are those good, what are your opinions on them.

LA is not really a mod. It doesn't need HoC to play it. It's a stand-alone game. Reason is, desowave was once part of the team that created SHoC. After they spilt up, they started working on the game by gathering all the files left ouot of the game due to Marketing wanting to release it, they just added them back and called it a mod.They can't sell it because, they no longer have the rights to do so. I thinkit's great, myself. It's also been upgraded for Dx11.

As for the Complete mod, never used it and from what I gather, makes the game too easy. Auto-heal and all that garbage.

If its not really a mod, then you can just download it and play it like its a free game? or does it require the base game.

NO, it doesn't. Just go to ModDb and idownload all the latested parts and install it. It comes with it's own installer in the 1st part. Just click it and follow the prompts. It's a free game so, why not? It's the fulll game with more added back into it.

waat, thats crazy, is something like that even allowed?, i will download it and test it, if i like it, i will probably buy Stalker anyway.

Lost Alpha is just a stand alone mod game and is installed into its own folder, it is just a full compleation of the stalker dream promotion version of the game for THQ. The SOC is the final version. Lost Alpha makes it so stalker fans can have a chance to play it.. So it is not a mod as in for SOC..
