Unless your using a old system running WIN95, the PSU will not be enough for a modern PC. Go get yourself a Corsair 750RM. If you have a light show going on, look into a 1000 instead. I use a Corsair HX 1200(I have a light show).
Your PC is most likly shutting down because, that 8GB RAM is not enough because the card wants it. So you will have nothing to run the OS. OS always has to be running, even in the back ground, because Windows is a object oriented program that requires resource sharing. Games are NOT the OS. They will not keep the system going. Windows load at PC start because IT is the OS. If you got 8gigs of RAM, the Card will use 8 gigs because it is a 8 gig graphics card. And the OS will not be held in memory, there isn't any. so either get another 8Gigs or just do a 32gig fill. For what you got, you will be set for even other games that don't exceed the need of what you got.
OR
Just play it in windowed mode, card will be working on half....
Just a NOTE...
The game is made to run on
WIN XPSP3
AMD Athlon 2core 2200Ghz
512mb RAM <----
And can work fine on a AMD Vision Tek R7 2gigs VRAM <----
My old system I use to have using XP, I used 4gigs RAM. So we'er talking 2007. That is how far I go back with this game. I still own all three games on DVD from back in the day before steam got em..
You can also try a desktop switch by going to 1280x768 and see if that helps.
Stalker SoC recommended requirements = 256 MB of VRAM.
GTX 1070 Ti = 8 GB of dedicated VRAM.
It shouldn't be nowhere near closed to use it all.
@Kur0's PC is well above the system requirements for SoC and it should be able to run it without issues, so your "upgrade your pc" comment is useless.

I hate this trash Game so much..
No reason crashes all the time, i do make quicksaves but still it sucks
Why are you triggered though? He is right, but i got it, the vsync function is broken. Thx guys!
Never had a issue with that either, glad you fixed it tho.. Game on..
When the game crashes, and you get that famous Xray Engine debugger message, you should be able to open Note pad and use the windows short cut key Ctrl+V for paste, and paste something in note pad direct. You should see something lay out similar to this example.
Example..
Expression : fatal error
Function : CScriptEngine::lua_error
File : E:\stalker\sources\trunk\xr_3da\xrGame\script_engine.cpp
Line : 73
Description : <no expression>
Arguments : LUA error: ...ow of chernobyl\gamedata\scripts\bind_stalker.script:57: attempt to call field 'uptabc' (a nil value)
The "Description" section shows about what the game was looking for a script line in this case, there was "no expression" for what it was called out on. And the "Arguments" section is the info of it's error problem while looking for the next line. In this case, the script file had no value for the function.
I adjusted a uptabc script file to put it out of action so I can explain what to look for. So at line 57 it had to call another script "uptabc"(a mod script), the game found the script unusable. So it CTD.
Or find the crash log and scroll it to the bottom for something like this. I don't know where the crash log is, it has been a real long time to 2007 that I ever had to use that. I always been using Ctrl+V because it is the fastest way to go to get the error info. "Stack over flow" or "Stack Trace" errors usually retain closer to memory issue at the time of the CTD. And if you get nothing, it CTD faster than the debugger can get it's info, so you will see nothing. But to be able to do this, the game must first CTD so it can save the info to the clipboard, and THEN after, you open note pad and paste in it.
There is no crash log anymore.
The only thing you can do, is hold the Win-key +R
tipe down in that window, "eventvwr"
Then there will plopp out a windows tool box where you can search by the time code for any red colored "fatal error" line, this you need to double click, so you can read the whole code.
For me it was 4 times this Xr3.dll file, so i manualy erased it out of the Stalker Game/bin path, and manualy let steam auto repair the Game.
Gues the sector on the HDD was broken or so, hope that will fix it.
I still have all my db unpacker files for all three games, I still have my allspawn file decompresser for all three games. I still have my favorite original mods of back in the day burned to my DVD disc collection I like to play(including my own personal made mods). I still have my stalker dev tools for all three games. I even still have the copy of the original STALKER promotion game. I bought the steam games because I love the game so much, I wanted to add them to my collection. The only DVD set I missed out on was the Clear Sky special collectors edition. At the time I didn't know it was released. There for the with all this said, your simply wrong, the xray_crash.log does EXIST! It is part of the Xray debugger which is bonded to the Xray engine. So it is part of the game system. There is no such thing as it "doesn't". It IS a Developer/modder tool for trouble shooting. I hope you least understand the meaning of "trouble shooting". I did not know where they keep it, because WINXP is not WIN7 nor WIN10, not even close. So in WINXP is not going to be located the same way as in WIN7 and WIN10, and more so since it is a steam game. I use the short cut because it is direct, and quicker to the source, with out the other infomation that is not useful for why the game had crashed. BUT, since you began speaking without thinking, I decided to pull out a old mod from back in the day, and delete stuff to make it crash to prove my point..
Found the crash log. the crash log is in STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl\_appdata_\logs\xray_crash.log

The crash log info does exist, you have to "LISTEN" and "PAY ATTENTION" instead of trying to play "the know it that knows nothing". It may prove to be useful latter on when using a mod in which you maybe able to figure out how to resolve it so you can play on...
OBTW, this part is saying, It crashed because the abc script file is not usable(should be, I deleted the center of it for this example).
By that time you spend to tipe all those words, it never came up to your mind to look up on my steam page?
You think you are the expirianced one here bc you bought the the cardboard version?
Btw steam did exist 2 years before stalker soc was released back in 2006/2007.
You want me to make a picture of my original Stalker SoC cardboard DVD pack ? Maybe also its bill from the store from 2007 ?
So what, you own the original boxed Game, and ?
That makes you now a pro Gamer or what?
BTW my steam is 2 years older than yours, just saying, and its my second account bc my first one got hacked back to the times where there as no steam guard.
Mr "I know everything"..
