Question regarding artifacts in Lost Alpha
Hello, Stalkers o/

I am not sure Steam forums is the best place for questions regarding a stand-alone mod, but I couldn't find anything online, even on the wiki, and I can't find dedicated forums.

In short: how do you counter the radiation from artifacts?

So, I am playing the 1.40007 version of Lost Alpha and I am trying to use artifacts, the problem being that, no matter what I do, I get irradiated if an artifact has just a +1 irradiation.
I have three shell artifacts in my belt already (+26 irradiation protection each) and, if I remember well, in vanilla it was as simple as 'if an artifact gives +1 radiation, prevent the effect with one that gives -1 radiation'.
Here, my shells seem to only protect me from external, environmental radiations. I tried getting to a total of 105 anti-rad protection, thinking that any number above 100 would counter an artifact that don't add more than 5, but again, even an artifact giving only +1 radiation irradiates me.

Maybe it's a feature and there's something I miss. Maybe it's a bug and there's a fix (well, really doubt it though). I tried looking in the Lost Alpha wiki but nothing's explained and noone in the comments seem to have any problem, so I'm trying here now.

I don't know if you found an answer to this by now, but just wanted to let you know I'm playing the same version of Lost Alpha and got confused by the same thing. I found a Shell artifact and was like 'Holy crap, +26 radiation protection, oh yes!' only to get irradiated when equipping it along with artifacts that added rads. It seems that the Shell and any other with the "+__ radiation protection" indeed only protect against external radiation. The artifacts you need to counter other artifacts radiation are the ones with negative radiation properties, such as Jellyfish (Radiation -2),
Knot (Radiation -3), Bubble (Radiation -4) and Pupil, which I assume can be found rarely through regular artifact hunting, which is how I found it, or through buying the transmutation recipe (Radiation -5).

Yeah, I found out as well wayyyy later in the game. It seems they are quite rare indeed, so much so that I could only equip artifacts when I was approaching the end of the game. Thanks for your reply though, you're the first to say something!

I play Lost Alpha DC 1.4007 version and I bumped into the same problem. I asked in mod website page about this issue but so far I got no answer. I searched the net, there is no other thread about this issue.
