Sure you could. Sometimes gameplay is a lot more fun though if you accept the things you miss or fail at.

It doesn't matter if they die or not.Nimble will still be a characther in CoP and CS even if they die,and they aren't very important in SHoC anyways.Most players didn't even think they would see Nimble again in the other games.And even then he is just a person who gives you stash info in CS,and gives you unique weapons in CoP.I forget if Petruha is in CoP and CS,but if I remember correctly.Then he just gives you 1 or 2 side missions in both games.

But in SHoC they're just like any other Stalker.

Petruha is just a part of the group Wolf lends to you. In CoP he's just one of the guys by the boiler anomaly that you help. Vanilla of course. Nimble gives one quest that rewards a crap artifact.

Canonically, they survive. Nimble is pretty important in CoP, and Petruha is a minor side character at the Boiler Anomoly.

So don't feel bad because they will resurrect in time for the sequel.

If Nimble simply wants to save himself and doesnt risk his life at all he could just sit in the toilet like Sultan did in COC but no Nimble is a real stalker
