Why is it so Hard to build a rail bridge in this game?
I have been trying for almost two hours to build a bridge over a existing track line, so I can run a food train over an oil train line. I have tried using the M key to raise it. It starts to raise it then gose to a terrain collision error. I have tried raising the land like others have suggested but nothing works.

It's not that hard. You just have to use longer ramps until the bridge, becasue the trains need easier slopes to climb on. When you got terrain collision error, you couldn't raise it enough to get a bridge over the other track: the ramps are too short.

If you don't mind demolishing and rebuilding the lower tracks, I suggest using the 'flying crossover' mods, where you can manipulate the crossover in many ways. Or just lower the existing track a bit, and it may be enough.

There is also Track Design Patterns that allows you to lay some nice tunnels if you'd prefer to go under instead of using Flying Junctions.

If however you want to stick with generic bridges what I do often is go back further so you can get enough run up to build up and over, then from the place over the lower tracks where you want the bridge to start, delete the bridge leading up to it, rebuild it but select terrain instead of bridge, and then sculpt the land in so it makes more sense. It takes a little practice and patience.
It takes time, but if you really can't remove everything and smooth out the terrain.. It can be small bits of track or road in the way you didnt delete properly.. And you should see the red problem somewhere...

You have to get used to laying a lot of tracks, play on easy and practice the most crazy systems you can! You also have to master signalling so its all good practice..

Eventually you can criss cross load of different height tracks..

Also dont forget using Shift M/N
And as mentioned the run ups

It's not always necessary to build a bridge crossing another track. With a food line and oil line crossing, you may only have a few trains on each. The number of times they may actually hit the crossing at the same time is small. Build a grade crossing and set up signals.

If you do need to bridge though, lower one rail and the crossing, and raise the other. The closer to a 90 degree crossing, the better.

You could also give this addon a try. It does a good job with the junctions

One trick I learned (Thanks Skye) is to widen the track area by adding tracks directly beside the tracks you want to cross. This works well (as long as you have the money) where the track you want to cross is sunk into the terrain . The width can depend on height. It's a bit trial and error, though.
just leave it. trains is broken anyway. just keep to trucks as those might work.

All the people playing this game for as long as they've been playing have never found that trains are broken. I'm amazed that you found it so easily. Or maybe....
it might have showed up recently.

of course not. but as you're the only person who is having this problem i agree it must be the game at fault.

So you are highjacking other threads because you can't play the game within the games parameters?
I would love an option to draw a small rail segment over an obstacle, then raise that section to provide the needed clearance, then connect that segment with sloping rail to my rail network.
