Competitive Rank System
I have looked at past ranking levels and what they are...but apparently comp system has been broken? If so was it fixed and whether it is or not, what are the levels of ranking do you need for each rank?

So that ranks = skill instead of playtime. Think about it, you don't have to be good to level up your account level but you can't just be bad and win 10-20 competitive games in a row to rank up. I know it probably seems like a bad idea but imagine you're in the top 100 players and you play with people who are bad at the game.

But this is not how it works at all. Look at leader boards the vast majority of people who are master have just been lucky and won 10 games in a row.

I would much rather play with a platinum with a 50% win rate over 500 games than a master with 90% win rate over 10

Ranks = luck

Completely agree with this..

I'm master with Ruckus, was ranked 22th, today I lost 2 games and lost like 250 pts, not anymore in the ranking page.

Something need to be changed on how you win or lose points..
8 pts on a win
-250 on 2 lose... hmmm okey

I agree to some extent but it's not always the case. I 'main' (sorry) drogoz and achieved Master with a 14 win streak, 0 losses. I can safely say luck was not involved. Much carrying and constant communication came into play.

I've barely touched most other characters but my win ratio is between 67-70%. I don't underestimate masters, sure, some got lucky but in general, the system works to restrict the rank to those able to legitimately achieve it.

I just played against a "master" sha lin who missed 6 out of 8 shots in the potg. Kinda says it all about the ranking system if you ask me.

You only get 10 points when you win? I played Comp for the first time this week, won all 5 games with Ruckus and went straight to Diamond.

How do you know it is luck??? Maybe it is luck, but maybe it is not. I thought the same thing when I first played the game looking at the leaderboard but I figured something out: If you haven't ever played a new champion before but your account rating is high like 4500 then you'll get to master easier. What this means is that a vast majority of the people on the leaderboard who look like they got lucky to win 10 times in a row know how to play the game.

Picture it like this: The best player in the world decided to try out a new champion in competitive. They have been playing hundreds of casuals as them and did really well. They could have easily gone in to competitive and won their first 10 games by being good enough to carry their team. What this means is that it doesn't have to be luck and that rank can be based on skill.

This is where the problem with champion ranks comes from: People want to get master and grand master but they say they can't because of bad team mates. They claim that 200 for loss but 10 for gain isn't fair. The conflict is right here: it turns out that your champion rating doesn't matter! All that matters is your account rating. This is because your account rating is ALL of your competitives, so it will still include those games you had bad team mates but also the ones where you had good ones. I'm not 100% sure but I would bet that for your account rating calculation losses and wins give or take away the same amount of rating. In my opinion, they should just completely remove champion ratings and stick with the account instead.

P.S.: Another thing people don't realize is what you need to do to deserve a rank up. Many people think you just need to be better than your team mates, but this is wrong. You need to be able to carry your team. Yes, there is a difference between carrying and doing good. I'll tell you an example:

Doing good - 250k damage as Drogoz

Carrying - 250k damage as Drogoz AND you get at least 50% of the eliminations/kills AND you kill all enemies, not just one (like killing a noob kinessa over and over again).

the big issue i have with it is; if you lose your first few games you get put pretty low on the "skill" scale, it happened back to me when i first started and every other game has a troll or an afk... and its just ipossible to find an ok team
