Rotate our monitors to portrait !!!
The ideal pinball game would have us rotate our monitors 90degrees to portrait. A lot of monitors these days have the ability to be able to physically rotate our monitors and pinball games SHOULD be played in portrait !!

PLEASE consider that.

You can do that...

Not sure about that. I've seen no option to play at 1440x3440 this would be my monitors res in portrait. However I do get the option to play at 3440x1440 and the screen is not utilised fully - it cuts off left and right areas to squeeze in the table.

Run it in windowed mode and stretch to fit. May only go to 1440x2560(portrait). Ultrawide may not work

+1, you can totally already do that in this game.

The in-game rotation option requires a cabinet code, if you don't have one you need to switch the display orientation in Windows prior to launch.

That's what I do... heck my monitor is 27 inches and honestly up close I rather just play windowed and take half the screen so I can see the whole board without darting my eyes all over the place. All depends on your preferences but the game changes dynamically on the fly when windowed.

I use MagicRotation Auto for Windows: automatically screen is rotated when I rotate monitor (also in games).

I’m assuming once we’ve physically rotated our monitors and told windows to change res to portrait, then launch game - the game detects the res that we’re using and uses the whole screen?

16:9 & 16:10 portrait are okay but I haven't tested an ultrawide.

What the heck, Pinball FX 2 runs in portrait smoothly. What's the problem with FX 3?

No, FX3 seems to not support portrait natively without windowed or external tools.

For me PFX3 will automatically adjust to whatever monitor orientation I have set in Windows. If I change orientation while the game is running I might have to ALT/Tab in and out once for it to take effect.

Just checking - you know we’re talking about physically rotating our monitors 90 degrees?

Does your display have an auto-rotate / gyro function which changes the desktop orientation?

For example If I rotate my laptop 90 degrees the desktop switches to portrait, if I then launch FX3 it honours the current orientation - no cab code necessary.

No I have a normal ultra wide desktop monitor. Although saying that - these days, some may well have that feature you mention. I have a Surface Pro that does that.
