-50% still not enought.
TBH, I think the time for getting anything changed has been and gone. If nothing has happened now, then there is little likelihood that it is going to. Time to move on.
Look at it this way - we probably all got the Carnivals and Legends table for free as a thank you to the legacy players. That's my guess anyway.
I know, they wont bring back PBFX2 tables, but this killed a lil the interest for me, i will move on, but only when it gets cheaper.
Dead in the water with no hope of any more DLC.. unless of course I shell out another 50 bucks.
What Laminar/Aerosoft did with X-plane was far worse, as the base game is NOT FTP. Though those with DLC in FX2 are in the same boat.
What a trend.
Pinball FX was the first pinball title to include microtransactions - this make you an industry leader. Now, you've burned your base so completely that I have a doubt you're going to win people back with a "mea culpa" and a token offering. You've utterly destroyed community goodwill - I mean, look at the number of people in this one thread alone.
I'm unsubscribing from this thread.
--> You've lost me as a customer.<-- Not just for PinballFX titles, but anything you put out in the future.
I've been playing PFX (and ZP) almost since launch day (10 years ago I guess), but I have never seen any microtransactions in any of Zen Studios pinball games. And I have every title on every platform (except cellphones if they are there).
I suggest you educate yourself on what microtransactions are. Microtransactions =/= DLC.
I know exactly what you meant with your post, but still I think my words were warranted.
To address your complaint, look at it this way. If Zen Studios released a finitive title, it would include 3-8 tables (judging from other pinball games, recent and past), lets say 6 for the sake of this. There are about 80 tables across all their pinball games (there are several tables from X360 and PS3 that we have never seen on Steam). To avoid additional payments, they could perhaps release additional table or two for free, but then they would have to go on making PFX2, again about 6 tables and if they were kind enough, all the previous ones as well OR if they did it like many other companies with several sequels do, they would only add 3 new tables to PFX2 plus the previous one. By now we would be at PFX20.
As much as DLC are crap, they are the best solution for a game like PFX where a developer is eager to make many more tables after launch. Sure, they could launch PFX2 and PFX3 with more new tables, PFX3 launched with only 3, but I don't think there is anything wrong with this model of their...apart from price I guess, which increased over the years due to ??? partly because of all the licences, partly because they want more money, partly because increased expenses.
Their problem is they are forgetting where they came from and the player base that brought them where they are now.
I just hope they wont become one of the companies who are destroying this industry, I already mentioned a couple above. We'll see in the next 10 years, will they turn out into Darth Zen or into Jedi Studios. With the F Up with PFX2 they made a leap towards the dark side and they made it clear they don't intend to remedy that. With all the never fixed major problems of PFX3 they look like many of the worst companies in the industry who don't give a damn about their customers. On the other hand, giving us 2 great tables for free was nice, but not nearly enough to bring them at least on the balance with the Force.
Not related, I so wish they would make more original tables. It's really a shame they're now a license factory. They're all great tables, but something fresh is way better. They've proven with the new ones they still got the magic. Also wouldn't hurt if they brought the tables that never appeared on Steam to PFX3 as well. Maybe they're not on par with newer tables, but still fun stuff.
I kinda agree.. however.. people, in my opinion, play games to escape real life .. untill real life trickles into gaming.. much like what Zen does.
Serves Zen right for 'licensing' most of their tables.. ALL of this has to do with licensing....

Yeah it's no big at the end of the day but then again it's no big if one decides not to support Zen with $$$ as well. Live and let live.
Zen screwed us over with our FX2 collection intentionally so they deserve what they get.
While it may seem that we have killed the Sand People village, and embarked on the path of becoming Vader, but instead we would like to throw the Emperor down the hatch and reappear as a nice force ghost in the future (no not the Hayden Christensen version!).
We totally respect your decision of not getting new packs etc. this is the biggest impact you can make as a customer, and should use the option when you see fit.
We have a lot going on (thankfully) made possible by people who've been here since the FX2 beginnings. I can say what I can always say - we are working hard to bring balance to the force. I sometimes can get into these loops of saying this, but I don't really like to say anything without some substance to back it up, so I won't make any promises we couldn't keep. Hopefully, the future and new updates/fixes will validate what I say.
The free pack is not supposed to solve everything, I would say it is the first step (?) of regaining your goodwill.
Thanks guys
