That's one of the weird things, on many objects it doesn't show that specs until you craft them. You have to remember what they are, or look them up online the first time.
Then remember what the are!

The official servers don't allow mods like this.

change was introduced in age of war.
before that you could see all values in smith , now you can check only on wiki or after crafting , fundom is best for that.
remember that dune will be the same crap and don't buy it for more than 10$.

The fact that something so simple (and useful) as this has still not be implemented in the game boggles my mind. Among other QoL changes. Meanwhile we get many "features" nobody asked for.

It's probably part of the new cheap content filler we see appearing in many games in the last 5-10 years, in this case it now takes additional steps off-line (not playing) to research a craft's stats before you make it. This is just another time sink, that gives the illusion of content. We should be able to legally challenge developers that do this, it is so dishonest - when I buy a game, I pay to play, not to research basic functionality.

Well... no..
back when the game came out, armors had no stats at all except armor.. which is shown.

Later on they added other stats to them and the UI was not updated to show these, but back then, every time the subject came up there were mixed opinions, because some wanted to keep them hidden as a survival game feature, since this is originally supposed to be a survival game where you discover and remember things and thus have an advantage you earned over somebody who doesn't have that knowledge.

(FYI a lot of crafting stations didn't tell you recipes either.. you had to throw ingredients in and figure them out, the simple act of making steel required you to discover several recipes that the game never told you about.)

Anyway, since then they sort of turned this game into more of a RPG than survival game, with survival elements being made insignificant (you couldn't get from the starting area to the river before you starved, had to keep eating bugs and rush to build a campfire, now they throw food at you in a box literally at the cross and temperature would kill you in the desert too if you didn't have heat protection etc.) so at this point it would be whatever I guess.. they already jumped on the instant gratification easy-mode bandwagon.

So no, it wasn't done on purpose so that you go and play "off-line" to research... in fact the game is a client-server one and they're selling you the game license, not the service of officials like MMOs.. so nobody cares where you play to begin with. Official servers are merely an option for free low quality overbuilt servers where you can get introduced to the game and meet people, it's not a requirement, in fact over half the playerbase plays in single player so I guess they're always doing "off-line research" :)

Anyway, as others pointed out, you don't have to research at all, the wiki has all that information including a pretty nice search feature in case you play on servers where you can't use mods: https://conanexiles.fandom.com/wiki/Armor?so=search
Ive always disliked that you need to craft something first to find out what it provides. Easily wasted materials there, youre basically forced to look information outside of the game.
