what they should do is therefore to show everything on one window AND categorize on that one window so that you can still see all the things but separated by category to more easily distinguish them, also why is it so hard to tell which crafting station is which, all they need to do is group them in lists and put a slightly larger space between these groups and rest of items so you can see "oh here are 3 blacksmith benches I can build, and here 3 tanneries"
like you have to click on each of these "smithing" "carpentry" submenus when they could just show all of them one below the other at same time without having to click anything
also why are we stuck with tiny windows anyways, a lot of screen space is wasted by only having tiny grids inside them, such as in player crafting menu being 5x5 when it can fit like 10x10 or larger and not need to scroll to see everything, not to mention the inventory itself
This means I am no longer able to do large building projects because I have arthritis and all the added clicking and key pressing makes building literally painful. I used to do large bases with dedicated rooms and decorations. Now my base is a basic 2 floor 3x5 rectangle where I've just tossed all crafting benches and storage boxes with a bed in one corner. So yeah, you could say I hate the new building system and would love to see an option to use the old system instead.
Aim at piece you're wanting to switch back to, and middle click. It will put the piece you're aiming at as your construction part. For large projects this is extremely essential and far better than filling your hotbar with blocks and having to switch between them all the time.
Need to move a workbench so you could change your layout a bit? Have to scrap it and hope you don’t accidentally use the mats on something else.
You can move workbenches and chests without scrapping them. If you are going too far you may have to temporarily place it down and move it again, but moving them within a base location is possible. Open up the radial menu for a bench or chest and there is a move option.
