Are dungeons possible Solo?
So me and my friend always play together but when he is offline i try to kill bosses int he open world. Me and my follower as im full auth spec can take out 1-2 skulls without too much trouble but against 3 skulls its either very risky and slow or impossible. My follower has decent heavy armour and a leg 2h mace with 50% armour pen.

Is this ghame even really possible solo? as it seems far too difficult. Or do they expect people solo to lower the difficulty setting when solo?

Many of the 3-skull boss enemies have HP values that are intended for group play. Some of them will be a real challenge even with a good character build with a well equipped thrall. I'd recommend increasing your damage multiplier under server options while playing single player. Very easy to reduce it again when you're playing co-op.

It absolutely is possible to do everything solo, even in barbaric settings.
Is your thrall using epic heavy armor? Is it a later tier thrall, either named, or III of something much further in the game? Is it level 20?

A thrall with 1000+ armor, and 3~4k hp should not have too much trouble against a 3 skull boss, especially if you're using the +20 attributes. The only exception to that would probably be a very low tier bearer who has very crap damage, and not enough hp to win through attrition.

(And ofcourse the one and only exception to the rule of thralls, is the AC. Don't fight the Arena champion with a thrall that you care about.)

yea if you chuck endgame armor, and star metal hammer or sword on most thralls, it makes quick work of bosses solo. if you got named weapon and armorsmiths then that gives even more stats.

even after the nerf a thrall will hold pretty firm against some of the bigger bosses

you can rampage the map usually as long as you dont get the 'thrall not attacking' thing.

And to add to what he is saying feed your thrall good food I had a level 0 relic hunter in heavy dragon bone armor face tank the bat boss for me barely losing any health I only have 10 in authority, and speaking of the AC the first time I went in there I went to go do my normal thing and smack her in the face she ended me with her first combo

My thrall is some hunter woman from the north green zone, she started with like 40 str despite being an archer. She is lvl 10 i think now wearing the heavy raider set not epic, using leg 2h hammer. i got 20 points in auth, 15 in vit, 10 in grit and 15 in expertise.

does a thralls str and agil dmg bonus combine for any wep? or does str bonus % only affect str weapons?

Sounds like you've got a Dina or a Freya. Both are archers that start with 30 str and make decent fighters these days. The epic armor that you can make at level 60 and it's damage mitigation is what really makes thralls un-killable against most bosses. If you and your thrall aren't wearing epic armor, make that your next priority over boss killing.

These days vitality is what you are looking for in a thrall. Try capturing a Cimmerian Berserker, a Relic Hunter Treasure Seeker, or a named fighter from the volcano like Erii or Kisthis. Any one of these will likely end up with much more health than your Nordheimer.

Str will give a minor bonus to agi weapons and vice versa according to the developers. I haven't seen anyone quantify that.

Make a point to visit every bearer spawn in your path often. If you have a run of bad luck in the T3 bearer lottery, visit some of the richer bosses. The Tortured King in King's Niche is probably the richest and drops the blue duct tape for healing. Silver is easy inside and outside the silver mine (doh). You shouldn't have too much trouble doing the Black Keep for Silent Legion armor. Once you get that you can explore the volcano and find the gold rocknoses.

The Cimmerian mounds of the dead camp can spawn up to T4 bearers. There's also a bearer spawn in the hostile part of Sepermaru that can produce up to T4 bearers. Another bearer spawn is at Meadowwatch in map square F10. Might be others but these are ones that I usually visit when looking for a decent bearer.

There are three bearer spawns in The Den, sometimes you can get very lucky :-D

2 of the best places for bearers are in my opinion the pirate ship and the big dog of desert camp, I think each of them have 3-4 bearer spawns :)

I play almost always solo, with a tough setting ( full health, full stamine, and what left in strenght) a epic heavy armor, a goos shield and a one handed mace ... i can kill anything but yeah sometime its a bit long ^^
The only problem come from the last boss of the vine cellar : the spawned ghost are a real problem but its possible with a lot of caution and time.
