Is there a way to remove/disable/replace spiders?

I have been searching, but haven't found anything helpful. (I suck at looking for stuff online so there may be a solution I just haven't found)

Is there any way for me to play this game without encountering the spiders? I have a strong fear of spiders and seriously can't go near them. I didn't know there was spiders in Conan exiles until I came upon them in-game. Freaked me the. ♥♥♥♥. out.

And that "Face your fears. Use killing them to get over it" doesn't help. I can't even look at pictures of them. (Which made searching for an answer to this question a challenge - in which I ended up with my stomach in my mouth and nightmares) Like, even the spiders from MINECRAFT freak me out... Just seeing them in this game at the very edge of the screen has me recoiling in my seat and turning away on instinct. Safe to say that's not how I want this gaming experience to be...


Or if playing without them is 100%, undoubtedly, absolutely impossible; what is the most accurate/detailed map I can find that shows where exactly they are? Then at least I can try navigating above the river without my heart in my throat every time.


And lastly, I don't know if this makes a difference but I only play singleplayer.

perhaps you would have to ask a modder to help you out, but im pretty sure you can take spiders out of the game, just need to farm other stuff for chitin then.

I think there used to be one floating around. Not sure if it's still updated or not

Edit: Ya there are a couple of them but neither have been updated in some time. Sorry OP, I understand your frustrations. I used to know where all the spiders were but a lot has changed since I super actively played (I mostly mod now).

Pretty sure the snowy mountain area and the highlands (don't know the exact name of the areas) don't have spiders at all, in my experience they're the most prevalent in the desert. There is a certain world boss you'll want to avoid then, it's a gigantic spider, and I mean gigantic, if your phobia is as bad it sounds, avoid it at all costs.

The only downside I see to you avoiding the spiders is that you'll have a rough time trying to get gossamer, which is needed to make silk.

I am not sure about the gigantic one, but when I went to where a spider boss was, it was a giant scorpion. I think it changed them. The Demon Spider I have no idea about, but that one as far as I know is half spider half human so it's not as bad for me.

Oh awesome, I did see that Mazakahara but thought that it was out of date. Thanks for sharing and I'm glad that the OP found a solution! For what it's worth, Jens, a Funcom Community Manager employee, also hates spiders heh heh. Probably not on the same level of course, but the fear is very real in people and I'm just glad a solution was found!

Fortunately, this is one that works even though it is out of date. Though word of warning, the normal ones tend to sink into the ground a bit so it's kinda hard to hit them, not entirely sure why as I think Spiders stood up higher, but the bigger Scorps are definitely normal ground level.
