The Aquilonian and Khitan DLCs come with placeables like statues, small jade dragon etc... but no pet skins.
The Pictish and Yamatai DLC's come with pet skins but no placeables.
It seems the DLC are based somewhat on historic cultures.
Aquilonian = Roman.
Khitan = Chinese.
Yamati = Japanese.
Pictish = I'm not sure, tribal / shamanic?
Each DLCs armour's boosts a different stat.
For the heavy armours all have heat protection except Khitan which has cold protection.
Can't remember if the medium and light armours are the same.
May be worth taking a look at videos to see which armours and weapons you like the look of.
EDIT: I completely forgot to mention building. All DLC's have building components that are the same as existing building pieces except they have different skins. They are Tier 3, requiring the same materials as tier 3 reinforced stone.
Because i'm a Roman and I like to wear my ancestor's armors!
I myself have only purchased the Pictish stuff (The Savage Frontier) because I liked the look of the armor and weapons. Beyond that I don't care about much, I run a lot of mods for building and decoration. Will likely get the Aquilonian stuff (Jewel of the West) at some point too, but doubt I'd bother with the other 2 DLC's.
Nothing. You continue on playing like always. The DLC owners are able to craft DLC items for non-DLC owners though, but non-DLC owners wont be able to repair them.
Picts by Robert E. Howard were apparently a mix of ancient scots and native american indians, particularly Algonquins.
Its the only "barbaric" or primal looking DLC armor set... So its the only one Ive bought so far.
