Update 37 Weapon Changes
Thanks for ruining the weapons Devs! I wanted nothing more than to swing my sword and then stand there like an idiot for 10 sec holding it behind me just in case I decide to swing again. Are people really have issues comboing swings together?

Also, the changes to greatsword and 'long'sword were unnecessary. I miss with the second thrust of the longsword heavy attacks many many more times than I have ever missed with the jumping attack you took out or the heavy chop on the greatsword. What happened to that longsword animation? Why can't I knock people down anymore? If you insist on taking it out at the end of the heavy combo try putting it as the CTL/ special attack. That's what you did with the greatsword.
Also are you going to be making drawing a weapon faster? You reduce the versatility of these weapons saying we should just switch to a different weapon if we want swings vs thrusts or vice versa, but simply changing weapons takes so much time it's impractical in a fight. Granted you seem to be trying to slow down combat, so maybe that will be null in the future.
Maybe you should remove the 2h hammers heavy finisher. There is clearly far to much jumping around in the combat system. And what exactly is the point of the special attack of the katana? What role is that weapon trying to be? Yeah, remove that charge-up dash along with the multi-hit light finisher that can put 5 stacks of bleed on someone too.
We should all be rooted in place smashing each others faces in. Who ever has the most HP should clearly be the victor.

I would rather you expand the game with more well made animations and interesting game play than reworking weapons that didn't need fixing. Maybe add some more solo content to the game too? Just saying, should I really have to mod the game to make the game bearable while playing solo?

Thanks for the game, but apparently it's time for another long break.

Before anyone asks, I only play Single-Player... Because other people are, well, people.

Playing single player is silly when there are PVE servers with very nice people. The mentality of those playing PVE is VERY different than PVP servers. You might wanna try some PVE.

Why is it silly to play the game single player exactly? This way I can play the way I want, with the mods I want and testing/adding/changing those mods as often as I want.

In singleplayer you don't have to babysit your thralls/base.

In PvE, they starve because of obnoxious new hunger mechanics and the purge occurs when you aren't around.

Starvation mechanics were reversed/removed a few patches ago.

i p[lay dolo on pvp offical, no issues, pve are filled with passive/aggresive nut jobs.
got raided once, by a member of the top clan....clan leader was suprised to find out...offerd to give me whatever i needed, i declined as its all good. but still solid offer, which was appretiated

Playing single player / offline isn't silly, it's an easy way to introduce yourself to the game, without having to worry bout other people.

I'm on PVE-C server and map is awash with clans building crap for the only purpose of blocking other people. Like a dog pissing everywhere, why do they do it, cause they want to mark territory and let other dogs knows they are there, is exactly the same for this game.

The mentality is exactly the same on PVP or PVE. The only difference PVP will kill you and take your stuff, where as PVE will just build around you destroying all the resource nodes and screw your game up like that.

I think you all missed the point of this thread (other than ranting at the devs).

I'm annoyed about the weapon changes, but I just knew that someone was going to bring up how these changes would make pvp more balanced or some crap. Thus, I preempted that by saying I play solo so I don't care about dumb pvp balancing. That's all the devs seem to care about though is their precious multiplayer servers. Maybe they should be more focused on making the game better.

If a weapon isn't used in pvp because the moveset is different that doesn't mean you need to change the moveset. It is useful in different circumstances.

Seriously though, how many people have issues comboing moves? How many people actually miss with the down chop of the greatsword heavy finisher? Are people really missing a hit with a sword's (now long sword i guess) jump attack? I have personally never had any of these issues, but they kept coming up in the video they posted.

I only have time to test mods, and even I miss all the time with those specific move sets. The change isn't just about PvP, it will help PvE players too. I'm fine with the change.

It's okay to disagree with the changes though, Funcom specifically stated (several times) they were hoping for feedback once it's in the players hands on testlive. Hyperbole statements aren't really necessary though.

I agree with you on the weapon reworks (scratching my head)...why. why was this necessary? Not only that but in my opinion the new reworks look worse than the ones b4. They even seem slower. No knock backs or knock downs? The short sword.. pointless. Why would I ever use this weapon? Its the same size as all other 1h swords. If ppl want to run around poking each other with spears let them. Weapon play should be a personal preference. There are weapons to counter a spear. Yes they should fix the katana. Why is IT so slow? I'm okay with the dash but they need to add more combos and swings or sumn. I just don't see why this change was so prominent instead of fixing all the buggy issues or other exploitation? Focus on that shatty AI. Don't even get me started on those new oils and kits..Again why? Why implement items in-game that clearly will rarely be used. I don't see more than 2 or 3 of these items being used consistently. Man what a waste. I appreciate the efforts, but they can do better than this.

It is because of people like you "tHe CoMbAt DoEs NoT nEeD fIxInG!!!1111" that we are stuck with this joke of a system and devs are afraid to touch it.

The main problem remains obvious: the devs do not play their games anymore. They have 0 understanding of what their game is, how does it feel and how to have fun. All they can do is pick up some statistics and base their decisions on blind assumptions detached from reality.

I bet the poor bastards work overtime and there is no way they can sit here and play for fun.

It is not just Funcom problem. It is everywhere.
