Sentry Buster Damage
I'm interested in how much damage a Sentry Buster actually has.

I do know the following:

1.) It has more than enough damage to kill a maxed building health Sentry Gun that is being Wrangled.
2.) A Spy with a Dead Ringer active (nothing else, no blast resistance or any upgrades whatsoever) can survive a Buster blast epicenter. From my test, I went from 125hp to 78hp.
3.) As a Scout, I have survived Busters before when I had maximum blast resistance and a goood 600+hp.

Maybe it does 500 damage to players (500 x .10 = 50, about the same damage the Spy absorbed via the Dead Ringer) but has a damage bonus to buildings? A Wrangled Sentry Gun has a health of 648, add three building health upgrades and by my calculations, it would have 1944hp.

Any research in this area?

If it's known how much damage reduction uber canteens give sentries with max health, it might be possible to figure out through that way the specific amount of damage they can provide.

I forget if wrangled was involved though.

Been a very long time since I've used uber canteens to make my sentries nearly indestructible...

I guess it instawrecks every building in radius. Once it feated my full health dispenser with 3 building health upgrades when it was placed just on the very edge of explosion radius.

I'm guessing it's explosion has a massive damage bonus to buildings like the Homewrecker to always instant destroy them, but still deals almost instant kill damage to players without resist. You need like 600+ health with max blast resist to barely survive it.

It seems to have massive damage spread and damage fall-off. You can in rare cases survive if you have 450 health and max blast resist.

it will always 1-hit buildings regardless of any condition

for classes it appears to be like the spy's backstab in a sense where it deals 2 or 3 times the class's maximum health but there are a couple of factors. first it has splash fall-off like normal explosions, second max blast resis lowers the damage by a huge margin and having overheal / being on the edge of the explosion makes it possible to survive

against robot it will always 1-hit commons, even big commons like rapid-fire bowmen and samurais (although steel gauntlets with a backup + level 1 bomb should be able to maybe survive)

giants only take a pre-coded value which seems to be around 750-1000.

robot buildings and tanks are 100% immune to buster explosions

it's also worth noting minicrits work for buster explosions (though crit busters dont exist)

Don't uber canteens protect it though?

No

Isn't that literally the entire point of uber canteens as engy?

Uber canteen give resistances to your sentry ? Well you learn something every days.

I did survived a Sentry buster's explosion as a Medic with full blast resist, but I don't remember if I was at the edge of the explosion or not.

Also I noted something about Giant robots caught in the explosion, but it must be confirmed : Giants will NOT get damaged by the explosion unless they got under X health (which, instead, kill the Giant instantly). I only saw Super Scouts getting killed by that personally. Does it works the same way with players ?

Read the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thread. It is only 8 comments big and there is no massive walls of text.

Pretty sure the upgrade shop mentions that your sentry become indestructible if you use a uber canteen.

I'm sure that the uber canteen give your sentry a shield, and crits canteen doubles the fire rate.
Unless fighting against groups of bots you're just better off using a wrangler.

speaking of canteen usage....

Does Engineer benefit from both crits and minicrits at the same time?

- Pop a crit canteen, which forces your sentry to the max firing rate. Switch to your wrench and whack the tank for crit melee damage. Buff banner soldier in range increases the actual damage your sentry is doing....or does it not work that way?

As long as they kill the dumb Heavies who focus them. Nothing makes me laugh harder than to see that fat idiot rev down and try to escape his inevitible regret.

The canteen states that you shield your sentry against damage. And it looks like its the Wrangler shield, so it only eats 1/3 of the incoming damage.

In theory yeah, it would work
