Isn't the huo-long heater a little too op?
Hey, I like to play as a pyro(with the backburner) and I've noticed that the huo-long heater is awfully op. :(

Currently the heater creates a fire ring around the heavy at the cost of 6 ammo per second, my backburner wastes more ammo and makes less fire, and the pyro is supposed to be the fire specialized class, what gives?

There is no damage penalty or crit penalty, all it has is a damage bonus(the fire ring), which can help kill a lot of close quarters classes, demo-knights, scouts, spies, pyros, etc. Can you imagine a pyro losing a close quarters fight because of a fire ring?

And if you put the heavy beside a dispenser he gets ammo so the ammo problem suddenly disappears. That is even worse of a problem since the cart is a dispenser, so heavies get rid of their weapon bad point just by doing a mission objective!

P.S: No, I'm not a W+M1.

Yeah? I'm a pyro with a backburner, I'm behind a heavy, do I backburn? No, of course not! Use the flare gun instead

If the heavy isn't shooting at you your flamethrower will massively outdamage his fire ring.
If the heavy is next to a dispenser he is both even more of an attractive target for explosives and is constrained to the dispenser for the ammo bonus.
Demoknights are not longer ignited and have alot of frie damage resistance, makign them inigun the actual thread.
It was designed to be particularly useful vs spies, switch to a non spycicle knife then use the DR to extinguish yourself.
There are many solutions to a huolong heavy and it sure isn't OP.

How is 6 ammo per second a balancing point for a fire ring when the ammo problem is easily solved by standing near a dispenser or pushing the cart?

It is not identical. It has a higher damage. The fire ring ADDS damage to it OVER the stock.

No, because you'd have to be an incredibly awful pyro to be killed by the fire ring. For one thing, the ring around the heavy basically only covers melee range. Your skillzburner crits have a better range than that. As for the other classes, they all have sufficient ways of dealing damage outside of his melee-range ring o' fire. You also have to take in to account that the ring is only active when he has the minigun deployed, meaning he can't actively chase people down and burn them to death like a pyro could.

The huo-long heater is an over-hyped spy-deterrent, nothing more.

uhh no, it doesn't light people on fire from a distance when you shoot at them. anyone being ignited have to be within point blank range, which destroys demoknights, scouts, spies, pyros etc already. you might as well say brass beast is OP because it does more damage and the movement penalty is negated when playing on defense

The Ring only burns you it don't makes more Damage

you don't have to fight every enemy you see
if you see a heavy camping a dispenser and you're a pyro, don't be braindead and try to kill him
just tell your team about him and let a soldier or demo deal with it

The burn damages you, though.

It's not op. in every map except PL maps its a large hit to the heavies ammo. It may only be 6 ammo per second but when you are shooting it at the same time your ammo is draining very quickly. Is also means heavy cannot wait around a corner with the gun ready and spinning, its fine trust me , I play heavy all the time. From my perspective the whole ammo drain is bad I just use stock minigun. It's really just to counter a specific spy weapon which is the spycicle . If you are close enough to the heavy to be lit on fire while he was spinning his minigun I can assure you would probably be dead even if he had stock minigun.
