What is/are the best Sniper rifle(s) a pro sniper would be using?

I got a Strange Huntsman but I am wondering is a S. Machina worth the buy? Usually items that come from a salvaged crate are the best for a class, like a S. Huntsman or a S. Kritzkreig. But should I buy a S. Machina? Or what is the best to buy?

All platinum level snipers use the default sniper rifle, but try get the awper hand because it looks more bad ass.

Stock. I can't think of a class where stock isn't the most used by high level players. Except Kritz for the medic...maybe.

i use the stock sniper. with 1.3k hrs played, most with sniper i can say it works very well, it has no downgrades to it and it can kill most classes in one shot, even if it dosnt hit the head (onley a medic healin a class can stop a full headshot

never use a machina, that guns for snipers who cant ge headshots, you will get looked at as a noob. the sleeper is fun to use when there other snipers or other classes (just to "piss" them off).

I'm getting a Strange Machina because it's good to keep morale up while practicing getting good at headshotting so if I miss, it still kills the player anyway. I won't boast about it and I understand why people look down on Snipers who use it. Just need the practice and it can be disheartening to be so low in points in the scoreboard with such little kills for so much time spent trying to kill. It's a good sniper rifle for practice use only; not to get all 'pro' and rack up points. Once I get okay at headshotting so I'm not just terrible at it, I'll switch over to my SF Sniper Rifle. Why not any other rifle for practicing? Because if a player is learning the Sniper and are practicing their aim to headshot, if they miss the headshot, there's a good chance they'll kill the player if they hit the body instead and that morale boost keeps the player's energy up which this ultimately results in some good practice sessions with good results as long as the person using the Machina isn't being all cocky and boasting about players getting mad at them or how good they think they are, and as long as they're learning the Sniper & are doing practice sessions only to get good at headshotting before switching to a rifle like the Bazaar Bargain to test their skills.

Stock weapons are usually the best to use because they don't deal that much less damage than the other weapons if you know how to use them well and they are so generic with their no stats, you can use them anywhere. However, the non-stock weapons are arguably map specific. Like The Brass Beast is good if you got a Medic on you and you're defending a control point just for an example. The Sydney Sleeper is good for rushing a control point and helping get the enemy team off the intelligence carrier, or you can go Jarate + Huntsman + Darwin's Danger Shield on enemy attackers on the IC (intelligence carrier). There's a list of these examples of how non-stock weapons are designed to be more map/mode specific.

I commonly use either Sydney Sleeper or Machina. The jarate shot is great support from any range, and the machina has those full charge benefits.
