Strange Parts w/ Map Restrictions?
I recently bought a strange medigun with allies healed but the part is map restricted. Can someone explain to me why its map restricted or how to get it unrestricted? Also why is there no information on map restricted strange parts?

Did you (or the original owner) buy a Strange Part that functions only on specific maps? This is what I can think of on top of my head (typing this at midnight and school is approaching).

Beats me on this one. Isn't that the case with other types of strange parts as well (bot-related kills, event actions, these sort of things)?

It's likely a strange part that counts kills on a certain map. If you want to remove it, you can normally with any other strange parts.

Thanks for the replies btw. Yeah i thought that too but Allies healed is the only part on it. And i dont want to risk removing the allies healed part.

You can remove parts separately, same case with other added stuff to an item like name/desc tags.

I dont quite understand. I know you can have more than 1 part on a strange but there is only 1 part on my medigun. I tried to remove the extra part if there was one but there is only allies healed.

It's due to it being the only part on your Medigun, the map restriction confuses me however. I haven't heard of any strange weapon having a map restricted part, not even the wiki mentions it.

Unless the case is it's a bug, which you could report to Valve. Maybe they might be nice to you to give you any item of your choice, but only one. Due to this a Sunbeams Gibus exists.

Rofl no they won't, this is an intended feature.

Chill, it's not like the end of the world. But at least the link you posted solves this mess, i very rarely seen those parts, let alone being on weapons.

You can remove parts separately
Did you miss where OP said they only have 1 part and they didn't want to remove it?

Also OP, the reason it is map restricted is because someone applied a Strange Filter to the item. I have no experience with Strange Filters but my understanding is that they can be applied separately to the primary stat or to the Strange Part (so you can apply up to four filters to an item, 1 for the primary and 1 each for the 3 Strange Parts you can have).

I don't know if a Strange Filter applied to the primary stat can be removed, but reading indicates that the only way to remove a Strange Filter from a Strange Part is to remove the part entirely. So sorry, you either have to leave your allies healed part map filtered or remove it. Although from what I've heard since it is filtered you can always add a second unfiltered allied healed part, and the weapon will then track both.

EDIT: And of course someone goes and posts the link while I am writing out this post, oh well.

It's due to the fact that like no one buys them or even put them on weapons. I don't blame them, why would you want to track everything on a single map anyway? It's kinda of a waste.

I honestly don't blame them, I've NEVER encountered anyone using one.

Thanks for this info... I guess i have to play on frontier inorder to use it, not going to spend a key on the same part technically. Thanks to all that replied

OP, you should be able to remove it from your weapon.

Open your backpack, find the medigun. Click on it and press restore. You SHOULD get an option that says "remove strange filter." Do that and it will track your stuff on every map.

I tried that already, there is no filter in sight. Only part. Btw, on the wiki it says only removable if you remove the whole part. Thanks for reply tho
