Team Fortress 2
[Help] Mumble overlay
Hello peeps, I've been running into this problem for quite a while, mumble's overlay doesn't show up on tf2.

I've tried pretty much everything (I think) I could find about the issue and just reinstalled TF2 but it's still not showing up.

I'm not sure if it's related, but when I start Hl2 from the tf2 folder it gives me an error about gameinfo.txt. I remember downloading (or using) a gameinfo.txt from internet (before reinstalling), which got it able to run, but would crash right after the initial loading.

My thought is that since Mumble uses this hl2.exe in the whitelist, it's simply not working.

I'd like to know if anyone could help :P (I'm using windows 8.1)

Open Mumble before TF2, and put -nod3d9ex in the launch options. It may help if you put TF2 in your mumble whitelist.

EDIT: Now that I have actually read your topic, you have to start TF2 from steam, or the shortcut. Don't open it from the TF2 folder.

I'm already starting it from steam (sorry for not being clear about that :P ) It's just that I thought that hl2.exe not launching directly might be the problem. And yes, hl2.exe is added to the whitelist as well as -nod3d9ex in launch options, but still not working :P

EDIT: Alright I just fixed it, by actually having the "run as admin" option on Hl2.exe, the overlay is now showing up properly.

Other way around. Mumble before tf2.

there's also an error caused when you change mat_antialias i think, if anyone else is having the same problem.

Its simple. Open mumble get yourself in your channel/server/fapcircle and THEN move to steam/tf2/urshit

I've edited my post a while ago, I was able to make the overlay work by having hl2.exe running as admin, with that the launch option isn't needed anymore for it to work. Thanks for your help though :P
