What is a strange normal item?
a few minutes ago I decided to open some crates, I started with a series 49 and got this scattergun that had a grey border and also recorded kills like a strange item. Acording to the wiki normal strange items are from when valve gives back deleated or stolen items to peoples backpacks but this was from a crate!

Yeah, people have know about this for hours now, I've got a Strange Normal Scattergun and two Grenade Launchers.

Also any Stock Australiums earned in Mann Up right now are also Strange Normal.
