Colors like cyan or blue will often get mixed up with skyboxes, and similarly yellow or red or orange get mixed up with ground and whatnot, and dark colors or light colors / grayscale blends too much with lighting in place. Lime nor magenta appear in game much outside of painted hats (which is intended to look out of place anyway), so they're the best choice if you want to go for nothing lower (though tbh it doesn't matter that much, if you can see your crosshair you're good).
Luckily nearly every map in this game takes place in a desert.
If they made a lime-themed map... well we'd be ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
