Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred prices

So I've been taking a look at the Decorated weapons that are in the Community Market. Mainly because I love how the skins look and it kinda helps to have something that replaces a Stock weapon. But I've noticed something unusual (no pun/reference) intended.

The rank (highest to lowest) of styles a decorated weapon has is Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. Ideally, the Battle Scarred weapons would be the most commonly received weapons and would also be the cheapest to buy on the market.

But from the weapons I've seen, Battle-Scarred weapons cost more than Well-Worn, regardless of grade (but if I have to be specific, it's more seen in the Mercenary, Commando, Assassin, and Elite grades).

Does this depend on the weapon? The grade? Or just how much the seller is asking for? Or all? I'm just curious about this.

It depends on the community, so yep, pretty much just how much the seller wants.

And there is the problem in your premise. Battle Scarred weapons are actually one of the rarest exteriors recieved, not the most the common.

Usually "Feild-Tested" is the most common, and then Factory New and Battle-Scarred are the least common.

They are rare? They feel pretty common on most matches I go to, Valve or Community server based.

Oh, yeah, plus that, I forgot that the drop chance for battle-scarred is the same like for factory new. I feel dumb now. Aw.

Here are the chances of recieving each exterior quality.

* 10% chance of Factory New
* 20% chance of Minimal Wear
* 40% chance of Field-Tested
* 20% chance of Well-Worn
* 10% chance of Battle Scarred
