Killsound?
I've been trying to make my killsound work, its in my tf > custom > hitsounds > sound >ui, and named killsound.wav. Any ideas why it might not work? (It is an .wav file, 44100 hz)

You have to activate it on advanced options, make sure you select default one

I found a tutorial in case the sounds not work but you need sony vegas, want me to send it?

Kill sound should be a sample rate of 44100hz, 22050hz or 11025hz.

You can test it by typing in console

play ui/killsound

Go to your Team Fortress 2 / tf / custom folder, and make two subfolders like this.

hitsound / sound / ui / [hitsound.wav goes in here]
killsound / sound / ui / [killsound.wav goes in here]

Put the .wav files in their respective folder,
(The game prefers the files to be 44100 Hz, and saved as: WAV Microsoft signed 16-bit PCM)

Load up TF2, and make sure in advanced options, that hitsound/killsound are set to default, and that final hit sound is enabled.

Your current killsound might also just be corrupt/broken.
Download/make a new one if that's the case.

i removed the .wav from the file name, and it plays, however everytime i play it it says "Failed to load sound "vo\null.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository" any idea on how you can translate that to english for me if you can? thanks

No, the file name was fine, I suggest you reverting back the name and make sure it is sample rate of 44100hz, 22050hz or 11025hz and then test it again in console.

If it still don’t work then read this guide.

how do i check if its 44100 hz 22050hz or 11025hz?

I don’t know how but I think you should already change the sample rate before using it by using either audacity or online converter (see the guide above).

(its an mp3 file) thats your problem.
It needs to be named "killsound" and it HAS to be a .wav file.
