Low performance on good pc?
Hi I am getting Iaround 60FPS on my PC, specs are NVidia 1070Ti, 16GB ram and AMD Ryzen 2600 Six-Cores, and I think I should d3efinetly be getting more frames. When nothing is happening on the screen it gets to like 120 but as soon as there is some fighting on my screen it goes to 60, even with low spec configs it does go below 90 when playing the game. Is there anything I am missing here?

OK, but where is that good pc? You have only 1070 and ryzen with 6 cores. So you dont have that good pc.

But is it not enough for TF2 on lowest possible settings to run over 12 constantly?

1070Ti isn't 'good', m8. I used to be on a 1070 and yeah, that's about the same, expected performance for your rig.

The 4060Ti 16gb just came out and even though people are knocking it, the performance to powerdraw is super impressive. Something to consider.

If I had the money I would get a better PC bro but TF2 used to run better when I had a 1050ti so whats up with that

Could be heaps of things. Additional hats, computer bloatware, dusty PC internals, changed game settings, full hdd/sdd drives will do it too.

ok few things
tf2 doesnt use your gpu
tf2 runs better on intel cpus then AMD
tf2 wants more cpu

and if anything, unusuals make my frames drop into the 40s with a good rig
anyone who says your rig isnt good enough needs their brains removed

Yeah that's what I thought like I can run modern games well but TF2 is too much apparently lol, thanks bro

...

If unusuals are bringing your frames to 40, you don't have a 'good rig'. Getting argumentitive because your PC is ♥♥♥♥ doesn't help anyone either. Just trying to help OP here.

tf2 runs worse on better hardware since the game isnt optimised

get a config like mastercomfig.com and it should help

TF2 is optimized like ♥♥♥♥. Turn off any kind of MSAA, it tanks frames for no visual improvement. I have a 3080 and depending on the area it'll drop to 100 or lower, when it's usually 300+.

I don’t get people who complain about 60 fps I get a constant 13-23 fps and I still constantly top score I think you just have a skill issue

I don't complai about 60 getting 60 fps, I complain about getting over 200 and then it frops to 60, which is very big difference and makes consistancy unachievable and feels like ♥♥♥♥ xddd, and also I complain that this game runs like that on a pc which isn't half bad

mastercomfig.com
Start with something like medium-low

I am using mastercomfig low and this is still a case but insead of dropping to 60 it drops to 90

That may be the best your CPU can do. TF2 will always have unstable fps due to it's poor optimization. If you want to see how your PC stacks up against similar PCs, you could try doing mastercomfig's benchmark.
