What does the restore function (on items) exactly do?

If an item have multiple things that can be restored you have to choose what you want removed and do it one thing at a time, there is no option to restore everything at once (except when an item only has one thing to restore obviously).

When you click to restore an item, it gives you a droplist of what you can remove
Restore kills, remove killstreak, remove custom parts, etc.
