Team Fortress 2
Southern Hospitality Rework?
Does the SH need a rework, if so, what are your ideas, I mean it's a direct upgrade to stock

Edit: Quoting error fixed.

It's boring to play compared to jag or Stock. I would like to see a change

It's not a high-enough upgrade to matter. There are other weapons in the game that need actual work, not these pseudo-upgrades.

Its just that the Southern Hospitality is a very boring weapon. You would really only use it because it looks cooler then stock.
It's just a third degree for the wrench; a direct upgrade, but not one that actually has any effect notable on gameplay.

Why is it boring? Sounds like a matter of your opinion, and not a good enough reason to change anything about it.

Losing critical hits is a significant downside on pubs.

It does ♥♥♥♥ at its job ever since the spy Invis buff where when a spy is invisible, any effect like bleed or Jarate, is reduced, therefore tracking spies for 5 seconds is in reality, lower. Perhaps something more interesting would show it in the spotlight. Perhaps, in my opinion, a good rework would be to capitalize on the term “southern hospitality” where people are caring, and make it so that dispensers heal twice as fast and dispense more metal, and make teleports have a lower cool down, at the downside of either lower health, or damage vulnerability, making the engie, an even better support class, at the cost of his own defensive capabilities, the perfect non selfish weapon. Although, with my proposed changes, the design would not make any sense at all, but that’s the best idea I got.

It doesn't really need a rework imo. It's a decent replacement for stock in some situations, but the unique stats rarely come into play and do little to affect the game as a whole.

If you like the stock Wrench and use it when playing defensively, you might find some use out of the SH. You could run it over stock all the time and in comparison likely wouldn't see much difference in usage.

While "boring" is subjective, it is definitely the least unique in terms of actual gameplay and applicability compared to every other unlock.

Pubwise: it would lose critical chances obviously, as stated above.

Competitive wise: It is considered to be one of the viable ones but its mostly overshadowed by the Jag, due to the competitive format consisting of one spy. (Highlander)

I don't think it needs a rework, its just like any other wrench with a different trait.

Why choose other wrenches when you have THE JAG
Mossy Snake May 21, 2018 @ 5:37am
The Jag is still a better upgrade

No need to rework it

Since it's like the Iron Bomber (not too interesting but basically a slight upgrade from Stock), it /really/ doesn't need changes.
But I'd like to see it made a bit more interesting, like "20% more healing from dispensers while active" but replace the fire vulnerability with 15% damage vuln all-around. Or something.
