Sentry guns are OP af

So I just finally picked this game up a few days ago, and playing against bots I cant win a single control point map. And its always because of sentry guns. The enemy places them in a blind corner where you cant shoot at them without coming into their area of fire, and then they INSTANTLY kill you in one freaking shot.

How the HELL do you deal with sentry guns?

Either :

Pick them off as sniper , take down the Engineer as well so he can't repair the gun.

Or play demo and stickyspam them to hell

Tried these, the gun is around a corner of an open area. Theres no way to come around the corner to even SEE the sentry mess less shoot at it. Literally theres no time to even aim cause you are INSTANTLY dead

You can edge-peek and fire a sticky , then pop in and out a few times and blow them up.

Ahh, a new player, it seems. It's not the Engie's mechanical buddies that are the problem, it would be your reaction time to them. I've seen far more dangerous spots for a sentry to be placed, like those aforementioned spots, as well as ledges, and even open corridors, if you don't expect them. And with a Wrangler, a skilled Engineer can just shrug off damage from all sources and the sentry could be placed just anywhere he wants.

My advice: practice with your reaction time; it'll be important in dealing with critical situations in TF2.

They take time to lock on and they don't instantly kill, so you can do a series of quick peeks to drop a few explosives while taking zero damage. In some cases, you can actually damage them without having them fully visible with splash.

All a matter of practice, man.

So Im trying him out now on the defense side of things, and my sentry is absolutely raping the enemy team. Im just standing here with nothing to do and its boring >.>

Playing with bots would be great for a few times, but try that on human opponents and you'll be swept aside like the soppy Texan sweatpants that you are.

Go soldier or demo there projectiles shoot out the right of the screen use that to you advantage and also get a medic to uber so you can be invincible
