BOOM! Free music
ik but what does the dlc actually do
It's basically just the tf2 soundtrack.

You can play them through Steam's music player, or for free via how others have explained.

And you'd most likely get a code with a physical copy.

Do you open it? is it a seperate program?

Step 1: Open Winamp
Step 2: Add "Fight Songs" directory to playlist (somewhere in TF2's folder)
Step 3: Press play

Another question: can you get the item code if you don't buy the physical version?

I think there's both a physical copy (A vinyl disk w/ a code) or a digital dlc you can buy from Steam. I think both of them contain a code for an exclusive hat that you can get for buying the songs.

Basically, all you get is a hat for buying a bunch of songs that are literally free. Y'know you can just use GCFscape to search through the TF2 files and listen to the songs for free?

edit: only the physical copy gives you the hat code. The dlc is absolutely useless. Also, the music from the song pack is placed in your TF2 files. It's all on the product page.

Don't think I've ever seen that. If it was a thing, it was most likely a limited time thing.
